Keep Publicly Funded Radio On The Air and Web

Think about every good moment you've had while listening to the radio in your life.
Think about every good moment you've had while listening to the radio in your life.

The Only Way to Keep The Public In Charge Is To Help Fund Public Radio

There are many different radio stations that you can listen to on the world wide web these days.  Does it make a difference to you to have the opportunity to choose what you listen to?  Do you care about whether or not someone else controls what you listen to?  How would you like to have an actual say in what you listen to on the radio?

So many people have started listening to more CDs and other types of music, news and books rather than turning on the radio because they have so little control over what they get to hear.  KPFT keeps up the fight to change this and give the public a voice.

KPFT 90.1 FM Houston radio station (kpft.org) has been on the air for many, many years going through all of the pains involved in making sure to never sell out, but to remain the public's radio station.  The public rules this radio station that is heard not only on Houston and Galveston radio stations in Texas, but also has a dedicated listener base across the globe through the ability to listen to this station on-line by typing in kpft.org into the web browser.

Through these difficult economical times that it seems the entire globe is experiencing many publicly funded radio stations are struggling to survive.

If you are reading this article, would a dollar or five dollars coming out of your credit card hurt you?  Would it help keep a publicly funded radio station on the air?  Yes, it would.

There are so many opportunities in our lives that we are presented with to be able to do some good.  Wouldn't it be good to help keep the public on the air?  80 percent of the staff at this radio station that has been keeping on keeping on for many, many years is made up of volunteers.  That is because there are a lot of dedicated people out there who are willing to help.  Are you one of them?  You could choose to be.

Check out the website (kpft.org) and you will find a schedule of different music and educational shows.  See if you aren't surprised by the variety you find.  See if you can't find it in your heart to give a little today, right now, while you are reading this article.

Keep not only radio alive, but keep radio that not only cares about what the public wants, but is run by and comprised of the public.  Give yourself a chance to have a say in what happens in radio.

Supporting KPFT is also supporting musicians.  Many musicians have gotten their start and continue to come back and visit KPFT for all that this station has done for these successful musicians.

Support KPFT and you are supporting the arts.
